Announcement of the Second Chen Jing-Run Prize

- To commemorate the contributions of Professor Chen Jing-Run and promote his indomitable spirit of perseverance and love for mathematics, the Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science of Chinese Academy of Sciences, in collaboration with the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences Education Foundation, has established the "Chen Jing-Run Prize." This award recognizes and honors outstanding works by young talents under 40 years of age in the fields of number theory and algebra, conducted within mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan.
- The inaugural ceremony of the first Chen Jing-Run Prize was held on July 29, 2024, recognizing the works of "Moments of L-functions and Their Applications to Rankin-Selberg Problems and Arithmetic Quantum Chaos" (by Huang Bingrong) and "Irreducible Components of Affine Deligne-Lusztig Varieties" (by Nie Sian).
- On April 1, 2025, the nomination process for the second edition of the "Chen Jing-Run Prize" was officially launched. Prospective nominators are kindly requested to refer to the "Award Regulations" and "Evaluation Regulations" on our website and submit nomination letters for the nominated works to the dedicated evaluation email mailbox chen_jing_run_prize@amss.ac.cn before June 30, 2025.
- Notes:
- The second "Chen Jing-Run Award" ceremony is scheduled to be held in 2026.
- The awardee(s) must be born after January 1, 1986, regardless of nationality, provided that the works were completed within mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan.
- The nomination letter must include the title of the work, a detailed explanation of its scientific significance and impact within the field, and information on related publications.
- Each work must be nominated by at least two professors, who are required to submit separate English nomination letters.
