Abstract:
The Painlevé property is closely connected to differential equations that are integrable via related iso-monodromy problems. The existence of sufficiently many finite-order meromorphic solutions appears to be a good analogue of the Painlevé property for discrete equations, in which the independent variable is taken to be complex. In this talk necessary conditions are obtained for certain types of rational delay differential equations to admit a non-rational meromorphic solution of hyper-order less than one. The equations obtained include delay Painlevé equations and equations solved by elliptic functions. This is a joint work with Rod Halburd.
