Abstract:
Sequences and arrays with perfect autocorrelation functions find applications in Statistical design of experiments, Signal Processing, Radar and Communication Systems and as aperture functions for electromagnetic and acoustic imaging. In this talk, we give some new construction methods for these interesting combinatorial objects. Several new families of these have been constructed by the speaker (joint work with John Dillon and Kevin Player in the binary/ternary case). The construction techniques heavily rely upon the Stickelberger's congruence on Gauss sums. The inequivalence of the new sequences follows by the p-rank calculations of the associated matrices.
