
In this paper, we establish the nonlinear asymptotic stability of Penrose-stable equilibria for the 2 dimensional Vlasov--Poisson system with massless electrons. Our analysis demonstrates that, under the Penrose stability condition, perturbations of the equilibrium state exhibitlongterm stability and controlled decay, contributing valuable insights into nonlinear damping mechanisms in plasma systems with reduced dimensionality.
